2012-10-12 00:00

A huge crowd awaited KZN Idols winner Khaya Mthethwa at the King Shaka Airport in Durban yesterday for his first visit to his hometown since being voted South Africa’s newest Idol on Tuesday last week. eThekwini Mayor James Nxumalo proudly welcomed back Durban’s golden boy and applauded Idols for not only giving Khaya, but also contestants such as runner-up Melissa Alison, the opportunity to display their talent. Khaya was completely overwhelmed when he saw his family and friends and almost broke into tears when the time came to reunite with his grandmother Mita Mthethwa (pictured).
