Image doctors working hard on damage control

2013-02-21 00:00

OSCAR Pistorius’s image consultant has created a website where the “correct facts” on him can be found.

On the site,, visitors can see the Nike billboards that were removed this week.

But the words “I’m the bullet in the chamber” are missing.

Janine Hills of Vuma Reputation Management said the agency aimed to load more than two statements a day.

A team has been created to keep the website up to date.

Everything written about Pistorius will also be monitored and journalists have been asked to send their stories to the company.

On the website, visitors can find information on Pistorius’s charity projects, photos, videos and personal history.

Hills said most media queries would be referred to the website.

She said it was impossible to answer the huge volume of questions they were receiving.

“We want to make sure that the media have access to the factual information,” she said.

Vuma will co-operate with the British image consultant Stuart Higgins, who arrived at the weekend.

Higgins said Vuma Reputation Management was largely in control of Pistorius’s image.
