2012-01-30 00:00

A FAMILY in Imbali has been left destitute after a fire gutted their home this past weekend.

Ten members of the Mshengu family are now residing in a rented house after their seven room house mysteriously caught fire on Saturday afternoon. At the time, four people, one adult and three children were at house, all of them escaped without any injuries.

Mthokozisi Mshengu a member of the family said he could not believe what he saw when he got home.

He said they still do not know how the fire started. He ruled out any electrical faults saying their house was properly wired and they have not experienced any electrical problems.

Shange said within 20 minutes, their home had been completely gutted. They could not even retrieve any of their possession including clothing, furniture or personal items such as ID documents or birth certificates.
