The Lank Lumos Lego Party tomorrow night features The Ranks, Jersey and Plainsite at Epworth School Hall. Dress is in lumo clothing or anything Lego. Non-alcohol environment. Entrance is R30, concert starts at 7 pm. The event is to raise funds to build a soccer field for a school in Edendale.


Tonight in Hillcrest is Just One Life (JOL) which is being held at the 4 500-seater HCF Auditorium in Hillcrest, hosting Spoonfeedas, Spin The Flava, Remix’d, Hilton Greig, Wade Engelbrecht, Candice Nel and Steve Rothquel (formerly MIC).

All the artists’ merchandise will be on sale at the concert as well as opportunities to meet them in person.

Just One Life takes place on July 18 at 6 pm, tickets are R50 and are available from, Hillcrest KwikSpar and at the door.

Zephyr will be performing at Macs Coffee Shop (Alexandra Road) from 9 am until 1 pm.

There’s no charge, but any donations will be welcomed to raise funds for a friend’s research trip.

There’s the usual range of coffee, cake and other snacks and drinks provided by the coffee shop, and raffles will be drawn during the day.


Sproston Green and Aden and Burning Soul rock at Cliffy’s on Saturday from 8 pm till late. Entrance is R20.

Sproston Green is a five-piece indie rock band from Pietermaritzburg. They have built a strong local fan-base with their dynamic performances at Cliffy’s and the Red Door. Aden and Burning Soul is a band formed by singer/songwriter Aden Hinds. Acoustically driven, his songwriting is insightful, lyrical and passionate. Aden is joined by Armin on lead guitar and Raheem with his unique style of vocal percussion and rapping. They have played at Splashy Fen and the Royal Show as well as other coastal venues.

A Luther Vandross tribute takes place at uShaka Marine World, every Thursday to Saturday from 7 pm until August 30. Tickets are R150 including a buffet meal.
