Inanda: Suspect held after taxi boss ambushed

2011-09-12 00:00

KZN Transport Alliance leader Eugene Hadebe is recovering in hospital after he was shot in as he arrived home with his four-year-old daughter on Friday night.

Transport MEC Willies Mchunu said yesterday he is “disturbed” by the incident.

Hadebe was hit in the shoulder as he was entering his home at Inanda. His daughter escaped without injury.

KZN Transport Alliance general secretary Bafana Mhlongo said yesterday that they are waiting for police to investigate the motive for the attack. “One man has been arrested and we are hopeful he will point to the others who sent him.”

Mchunu commended police for their swift arrest and appealed to people of Inanda to remain calm.
