Inanda: early Chrismas for elderly, orphans

2010-12-24 00:00

CHRISTMAS came early for senior citizens and orphans of Inanda when KZN Legislature Deputy Speaker Mtholephi Mthimkhulu and Chair of Chairs Sam Mthethwa handed out gifts and groceries this week.

Mthimkhulu also handed out seedlings and encouraged all present to take part in the provincial government’s “one home, one garden” campaign.

He said that the Christmas gifts and groceries may not be everything that the community needs but a gesture on the part of the legislature to let the community know that government is aware of their suffering and willing to assist.

“We are doing all we can to deliver on the services that would eliminate poverty,” he said.
