TWO men made a brief appearance in Louwsburg Magistrate’s court yesterday in connection with the murder of a 79-year-old induna at Ngome in Vryheid.

Ngwephezi Sipho Khumalo (42) and Timothy Sibiya (25) appeared in court for the murder of Mpipiza Mncube.

Mncube’s body was found by his family, who informed the police.

Police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane said on Monday last week, that Mncube went out to look for his cattle and never returned.

His family became concerned when he did not return and decided to go and look for him. After a short search, he was found dead with head injuries. The two suspects were arrested on Friday.

Zwane added that the motive for the killing was unknown at this stage, but police are still investigating. The case was postponed to July 24 for a bail application.
