Injury concern for JC Astle

2014-08-19 00:00

THE Sharks have come out of last Friday’s 33-17 win over the Pumas with just one injury concern.

Unfortunately, the worry is once again in the engine room, as lock JC Astle had to leave the field with a possible concussion.

The Sharks will have to wait to see how he progresses during the week, but if it’s bad enough, Astle may have to miss this weekend’s clash against the Cheetahs.

Astle joined the Sharks this year after representing Boland in the Currie Cup first division last year.

He was not the only one in the wars, as his lock partner Marco Wentzel also left the field briefly on Friday night with a bloodied nose.

But the 35-year-old is made of tough stuff and was not cited as an injury concern.
