Inspiring talks for women’s breakfast

2011-08-18 00:00

MEET a woman in a man’s world. She’s one of the country’s first woman helicopter pilots and she’s on a mission. Laura Ilunga is a member of 15 Squadron of the SA Air Force stationed in Durban.

She’ll be speaking to Witness readers at our inspiring Women’s Breakfast on August 26. The function, compèred by Ingrid Roberts and sponsored by Sanlam, is to be held at the Sinodale Centre. The event will be staged in collaboration with uMgungundlovu District Municipality and covered by SA’s largest audience station, Radio Ukhozi.

Ilunga flies an Oryx helicopter on mountain and off-shore rescue missions, fire-fighting and a lot more. She’ll be joined by Dorah Sitole, head of Media 24’s developing markets books division and formerly the editor of True Love magazine, and Iris Francis, daughter of South African struggle veteran Morris Fynn, who recently addressed the UN Commission on the Status of Women in Africa Forum 2011. Francis is group internal communications and corporate social investment manager for the McCarthy Group.

Seats are filling fast, so call us right away to avoid disappointment.

At just R120, which includes tea, coffee and a muffin on arrival, a mid-morning finger breakfast and a goody bag, it’s unbelievable value.

The event starts at 8 am for 8.30 and ends at noon.
