Irish star to judge Royal Show’s equestrian classes

2014-05-15 00:00

A HIGHLY acclaimed Irish show rider will be the judge at this year’s equestrian classes at the Royal Agricultural Show.

Horses and Equestrian sport events have been an integral part of the Royal Agricultural Society annual show ever since the first agricultural show in Pietermaritzburg 163 years ago.

“Showing is the art of presenting a horse or pony at its best so that it catches the eye and impresses the judge,” said Priscilla Young, spokesperson for the equestrian classes.

“For over 150 years there have been horse-loving people in KwaZulu-Natal who have showcased their prized horses with great skill and knowledge at the Royal Show. It is an honour and a privilege to compete at the Royal Show.”

This year Jane Bradbury from Ireland will judge the equestrian classes at the Royal Show.

The programme is as follows:

Monday, May 26: Newcomers and Children/Young children.

Tuesday, May 27: In Hand classes and Ridden classes

Wednesday, May 28: Adult Ridden classes.

The final date for entries is May 16. Contact Priscilla Young on
