FOUR more counts of housebreaking and theft were yesterday added to the charge sheet against two men who are alleged to have taken part in the burglary of a flat in central Pietermaritzburg and stole more than R1 million worth of gold jewellery on September 19.

Two new charges added against Aadil Ally and Gavin Chetty yesterday relate to alleged housebreakings at a flat belonging to Neelan Chetty in Raisethorpe.

In the first incident, on July 21, the accused allegedly stole jewellery worth R30 000 as well as a Playstation, and on August 2 they allegedly stole a television set and DVD player.

Ally is charged with breaking into a room in Pietermaritzburg rented by Sunday Ngcobo on August 20 and stealing a DVD player and a travel bag.

He is also charged with breaking into a house in Sanctuary Road on July 25 belonging to Rooksana Ally and stealing a Playstation, wallet and two cellphones.

The bail application hearing will continue on December 8.
