Jonny Clegg: concert tickets selling like hot cakes

2010-03-29 00:00

TICKETS for the Johnny Clegg concert at Woodburn Stadium on April 17 are selling fast and promoter Stu Berry has warned fans not to leave bookings to the last minute. Tickets look likely to sell out at Spar stores before the day.

Some of the 5 000 tickets have been sold to fans from as far afield as Empangeni, Harrismith, Port Shepstone — and even to a group of 30 Clegg fans who hail from Gauteng.

“We are extremely happy with the response we have had from the public to this event.

“We firmly believe that R190 is superb value for money for a live music event in which there is over five hours of live music, live rugby, a brilliant sound/stage and lighting setup, and a professional fireworks display,” said Berry, of Impi Concept Events.

He promised excellent security, with a CCTV system in the stadium and surrounding areas.

Berry added that those seated in the stands will have a great view, without having to stand throughout, because the stage setup includes two massive LED screens.

He has promised a show that Pietermaritzburg concert fans would never have seen before. “We have some great surprises in store for the show. The combination of Wonderboom, GoodLuck and a few surprise acts will provide a brilliant night’s entertainment.
