Just Jinjer returns home for ‘Milk and Honies’ tour

2009-11-13 00:00

FOR those not integrated into the social networks of Facebook and Twitter, news is that Just Jinjer, South Africa’s top-selling rock act, have returned to South Africa and will be performing in Pietermaritzburg on December 3 at the Golden Horse Casino, hosted by C-Weed Productions.

The past eight years have seen the band working the United States and London circuits, and the trio has just signed to Curb Records in Nashville which has secured global distribution of the band’s music.

Just Jinjer frontman Ard Matthews, with the exception of a fresh tattoo, looks much the same — still sporting the dreadlocks and still using his unique songwriting ability to pen new songs for the group to add to the timeless old favourites.

Advance tickets cost R85 at the Golden Horse Casino and R100 at Computicket. Tickets will also be available at the gate on the night for R120. Gates open at 6 pm and the show starts at 7 pm in the casino’s grandstand area.

For more information, visit www.goldenhorsecasino.co.za or phone 033 395 8000.

The Pietermaritzburg concert is one of several that Just Jinjer is performing in KwaZulu-Natal as part of its Milk and Honies tour.

You can also catch the band in Underberg at The Grind Café on December 1 (tickets available from Christy Murray at 082 994 2068), and at Northwood Crusaders sports club in Durban North on December 4.
