KZN Inland U18 hockey beat Southern Gauteng 3-1 to win IPT in East London

THE KwaZulu-Natal Inland U16 hockey team are in a chilly Potchefstroom for the U16 IPT, which begins this morning, hoping to emulate the success of the U18 Inland side in winning the tournament.

KZN Inland U18 won the IPT in East London for the fifth time in their short history of 15 years, beating Southern Gauteng 3-1 in the final.

Matthew Guise-Brown was the leading goal scorer together with Colin Ackermann from Eastern Province, both scoring 9 goals in the tournament. Player of the tournament was undoubtedly Clinton Panther from Michaelhouse and he earned his second SA U18 cap. Six other KZN Inland players also earned SA U18 caps.

Also beginning this morning is the U13 IPT which is being held at Maritzburg College.
