KZN Inland on top of Namibia in Windhoek

THE available information on the Provincial Three-Day Challenge between Namibia and KZN Inland in Windhoek suggests the visitors were 43 runs ahead yesterday with six first innings wickets intact after day two.

Inland won the toss on Thursday and asked Namibia to bat, dismissing the home side for 116.

The 40-over match is on Sunday.

Meanwhile, KZN Coastal will look to continue their unbeaten streak in Saturday’s semifinals of the Women’s Provincial League competition against Gauteng in Lenasia. Coastal cruised into the semis after winning all their round-robin games to finish top of the Central Region with 40 points.

Coastal coach Horatius Sokhanyile said he is pleased with his side’s performances.

KZN have the top two bowlers in the league, Chloe Tryonne and Rasika Maharaj, and two batters in the top six batting averages, Nikita Sole and Trisha Chetty.

The other semi features Western Province against Northerns.


Namibia first innings 112 all out in 33.2 overs (G Rudolph 55, C Williams 30; K Nipper 4-7, B Barends 2-23, C Savage 2-36). KZN Inland first innings 155 for four after 68 overs (B Moses 63*, K Nipper 38, M Olivier 22; L Klazinga 2-49, S Burger 2-10).
