KZN rugby: MackEnzie replaces Hassard as head

2011-12-05 00:00

PETER Hassard, president of the KZN Rugby Union for the past six years, has been replaced by his deputy, Graham Mackenzie, the former College Rovers chairperson.

Mackenzie, a Cope MP, was elected at the weekend general meeting of the KZN Rugby Union.

Hassard has been in charge of amateur rugby in KZN since 2006 when he took over following Regan Hoskins’ election as the SA Rugby Union president.

Mackenzie was elected deputy head of the KZN Rugby Union last year, when he replaced Doc Louw.

Francois Louis will be the new deputy president.
