Kearsney and Westville dominate KZN provincial hockey selections

2014-05-27 00:00

KEARSNEY College and Westville Boys’ High School have 50 players between them selected for the KZN schools’ hockey teams in the various age groups.

Westville have 24 representatives and Kearsney 26 and for both schools, these figures reflect the strength of the sport within their ranks.

Westville’s 24 reps is testament to the school’s ranking as the number one hockey school in the country. The first team have lost one out of 18 matches to date this season and five of the team’s players have been selected for the KZN U18A side.

Likewise the school’s U16A team. They too have dominated this season and have five players in the KZN U16A team.

For Kearsney, Bill Ntuli is in the U18A team with a healthy showing of players spread across the age groups.
