Killer kidnapper found after 10 months on run

A MURDER and kidnapping suspect was arrested by Port Shepstone police yesterday after he had evaded arrest for almost 10 months.

On December 18, 2010, the suspect had taken his fromer girlfriend against her will from her home in Mkholombe outside Port Shepstone. He kidnapped her at around 4 am and released her a few hours later. On the same day he allegedly fatally stabbed her boyfriend in the neck.

The search for the suspect took police as far as the North Coast.

On Monday warrant officers T.T. Mbhele and Mduduzi Zimema went to Roseville in Umzinto after receiving a tip-off about the suspect’s whereabouts.

He was arrested and charged with murder and kidnapping. He will appear in court tomorrow for a bail application.
