King’s Park: No ban on liquor

AFTER a week of media reports suggesting that a ban on liquor is to be imposed on King’s Park, rugby fans can rest easy.

For tomorrow’s game against the Cheetahs, supporters will be able to bring alcohol into the outer fields precinct as usual.

The Sharks said in a statement yesterday that patrons and supporters would be able to braai and drink alcohol on the outer fields as usual, but would have to buy their drinks from Sharks outlets there.

Sharks CEO Brian van Zyl said: “We would like to assure our fans that we are working closely with the relevant authorities to find an amicable resolution …”
