Kloof man yet to give statement

2013-08-06 00:00

KLOOF businessman Bruce Galloway (59) has still not made a statement to the police about his alleged kidnapping.

Police spokesperson Colonel Vincent Mndunge confirmed yesterday no statement was taken at the Pinetown police station, despite Galloway’s son, Wayne, indicating the contrary.

Wayne told The Witness yesterday “his father had made a statement some days ago” at Pinetown police station following claims that he was abducted.

Galloway went missing from his home in the early hours of the morning last month when he was supposed to leave for Mthatha in the Eastern Cape on business.

He was found two days later in Kloof gorge near the Bridle Road viewing spot.

The police had initially given the businessman time to recover after he was admitted to hospital, before obtaining a statement.

Mndunge said they could not compel Galloway to make a statement because he was not a suspect, but the complainant in the matter. This does, however, mean that the investigation cannot really go forward, he said.
