Knights move to fourth spot

2015-03-23 00:00

THE Knights took the honours in a rugged Sunfoil Series basement scrap, beating the Warriors by 93 runs in East London yesterday.

The Warriors fought a valiant rearguard action after losing quick wickets in pursuit of victory target of 332, but paid the price for their early enthusiasm as Corne Dry snapped up three wickets, with two apiece for Duanne Olivier, Dillon du Preez and spinner Werner Coetsee.

It lifted the Knights to fourth place on the log with 78,86 points, ahead of the Warriors on 67,48.

The Warriors had shown they were up for the fight when they raced to 128 for two at lunch, but the Knights created their own little heatwave which sapped the Warriors’ energy.
