‘Krouts is on his way to stardom’

2013-11-19 00:00

SPRINT sensation Kelsey Krouts of St Charles College is off to Potchefstroom this coming weekend to compete at the SA Junior Champions.

The gigantic 13-year-old Grade eight pupil — he weighs 80 kg — will be running in the colours of KwaZulu-Natal, and his coach Juan Pieterse believes Kelsey is one to watch for the future.

“The championships are also around the corner and this young talent is well on his way to becoming a star,” Pieterse said about the U13 runner.

“He has decimated the field with his fast starts and ability to maintain the lead no matter what.”

Kelsey’s personal best for the 100 m is 11,6 and 24,4 for the 200 m.

“He’s an absolute softy, but when it comes to training, it’s like he activates a certain beast mode and he just does not know when to quit,” Pieterse said.
