Launch of bridge will ease traffic

2012-12-04 00:00

PIETERMARITZBURG residents, especially those from the northern suburbs, can breathe a sigh of relief as their traffic woes are almost over.

Group Five, the company responsible for the Chota Motala interchange upgrade, opened an additional lane yesterday, to ease traffic congestion. The bridge will be officially opened on December 15.

Site manager Bradley Naidoo said the bridge was almost finished; all that remained was some painting and the installation of lights.

“We are very happy that this bridge will be completed in time for the Christmas break and will alleviate congestion,” he said.
