Licensing: Howick offline

2008-04-17 00:00

VEHICLE owners in Howick were not pleased when they found that the licensing department’s computer systems were down for almost a week.

No licences could be issued from Wednesday last week and some residents say that it was impossible to get through to the department as the telephones were not functioning either.

The systems were back online and functioning from Tuesday this week.

The licensing department has apologised for the inconvenience and assured The Witness that it was the first time that the computers had gone offline and that the situation was unavoidable.
