MECs brave the rain with beach aerobics

2013-12-19 00:00

THE show had to go on, a group of politicians learnt in a most unpleasant way yesterday when they were pelted with rain while doing their rounds to check along the Durban beaches.

The KZN MECs for Health, Arts and Culture, Sport and Recreation, and Social Development, were meant to speak to visitors, share safety tips and check on the city’s readiness for the holidays.

In the end, enthusiasm and a brave face saw them through, as the (by now) dishevelled posters had to be put to another use — that of providing at least some relief and shelter.

This also meant that the aerobics show the MECs planned to put on was a brief and wet one, with Health MEC Sibongiseni Dhlomo leading the pack.

Their next stops are Richards Bay and Margate.
