Mandela: no ruling yet

2012-08-31 00:00

THE Mthatha high court has not yet ruled on an application for the annulment of the marriage between Nelson Mandela’s grandson, Mandla Mandela, and Pietermaritzburg woman, Mbalenhle Makhathini.

Makhathini is Mandela’s third wife.

Attorney Wes Hayes, who acts for Mandela’s first wife, Tando Mabunu-Mandela, confirmed yesterday that judgment had been reserved by the Mthatha high court in relation to part of the application concerning the bitter divorce battle between Mabunu-Mandela and her former husband. The issue of the annulment was adjourned to March 7 next year.
