IT is the time of the year when school provincial teams are being selected and both KZN Inland and Coastals have been running hockey trials over the last few weeks. The teams were released by Coastals last week and by Inland this week.
Both the Under18 and Under-16 interprovincial tournaments are being held in Pietermaritzburg during the long mid-year break. — the U16 from June 14 to 18 and the U18 from June 21 to 25.
As KZN Inland won both the U18 and U16 IPTs in 2009, they are able to select a B team in each age group to participate in 2010.
Both the Inland U18 and U16 teams are dominated by players from the top hockey school in KZN, Maritzburg College.
The Coastal Under-18 is evenly spread among DHS, Glenwood, Kearsney and Westville.
