Mass grave found on KZN farm

2015-03-16 00:00

A MASS grave has been found in the KZN South Coast region, says the Office of the Premier.

In a statement, spokesperson Thami Ngwenya said the grave was found on Glenroy Farm in the Dududu area.

“This farm was known for using prison farm labourers.

“A task team comprising representatives from the Office of the Premier and Department of Arts and Culture was established to look into this matter,” said Ngwenya.

But Ngwenya would not disclose when the graves were found or how, being prepared only to say that information about the graves first came to light in August 2014.

“The executive council further resolved that other stakeholders should be engaged in particular the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Department of Home Affairs and others for further forensic investigation to determine the identities of those buried,” said Ngwenya.
