Mboweni takes a dig at Numsa

2014-01-09 00:00

CAPE TOWN — The former governor of the Reserve Bank, Tito Mboweni, yesterday added to the tweeting turmoil sparked by Zwelenzima Vavi’s tweet to decline the ANC’s invitation to co-opt him as a MP.

Mboweni yesterday hinted in his tweet that Numsa had been in talks with Julius Malema’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EEF).

Numsa secretary-general Irvin Jim, however, yesterday denied this.

The Sunday Independent reported Jim as saying, “Whatever his class position now, [Malema] has recently been a capitalist.”
