Mdluli: ‘Cops are cooking up charges against me’

2012-09-20 00:00

SUSPENDED crime intelligence boss Richard Mdluli was the “difficult son” in the police, and this was why senior cops were out to get him.

This is what Mdluli told the Boksburg Magistrates’ Court during the inquest into the 1999 murder of Oupa Ramogibe.

Mdluli said the assault, kidnapping and torture charges he faced were “cooked” up by police officers to ensure he was convicted of something.

He said the only reason he could think of for the resuscitation of the thirteen-year-old murder investigation could be a police conspiracy.
