Mental case: man taken to hospital for observation

2010-07-07 00:00

THE naked man who stunned employees and patrons of the 24-hour KwikSpar and filling station in Hayfields when he ran wild in traffic and jumped on vehicles on Monday afternoon, is to be taken to a mental institution for mental observation.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Joey Jeevan said the man, whose name has not been released for publication, has been admitted at the Northdale Hospital for observation.

She said he will soon be transferred to one of the mental institutions.

“He was taken straight to Northdale Hospital yesterday evening.

“His behaviour was one of a mental patient. However, we cannot confirm that until it is certified,” said Jeevan.
