Merry-making: Its pecanwood oktoberfest time again

2011-10-05 00:00

WERE you one of 3 000 life lovers to attend last year’s Pecanwood Oktoberfest organised by MRJ Events?

The Witness is giving you another chance to attend this event, by giving away 20 double tickets to this year’s Oktoberfest.

The event promises to be the best ever with traditional German music and late night deejays tweaking the festival with some familiar music and South African vibes.

Featured artists include Erin Fourie, the SA Idols top seven finalist, DJ Matty Cope, who currently deejays at Crowded House, DJ Grant Truter, “DJ Tru 2 ya” and familiar favourite Hayden Rattray.

If you are a dodgeball pro, this could be your chance to enter a team at the Oktoberfest, and compete against the undefeated Pecanwood dodgeball team, South African band Red Light Stereo.

Other activities include beer pong, boat racing and tons of other drinking games you may be familiar with.

Great prizes, give aways and the Oktoberfest King and Queen title may encourage you to take part, if you’re not already getting eager.

It’s all happening this Saturday, October 8, starting at 1 pm and ends the following day at 10 am. A pre booked ticket at any Computicket store will cost you R100.

Tickets include camping, and will increase in price should you purchase it at the gate.

To win tickets, simply SMS ‘Witness Oktoberfest’ to 32697 followed by your name and surname. SMS costs R1,50.

The competition is not open to the staff of The Witness and their relatives.

Winners will be announced in The Witness on Friday.
