Midlands rugby team selected

2010-05-06 00:00

FOLLOWING the first KZN schools rugby trials, where a Pietermaritzburg Schools side was selected on Monday afternoon, the Midlands schools had their trials at Hilton College on Tuesday afternoon.

Following a similar pattern to the Maritzburg trials, where the players selected were from major rugby-playing schools, all the boys selected in the U18 team are from either Michaelhouse or Hilton. In the U16 team there is one player from the development programme, but the others are from the two independent schools.

The Midlands teams will join the other zonal sides and the selectors’ teams at Woodburn on April 18, after which a KZN U18 team will be selected to play at Craven Week and an U16 side will be chosen to play at the Grant Khomo Week.
