Midmar entries close soon

ENTRIES are slightly up for the annual Halfway-Telkom Midmar Mile which takes place on February 7 and 8.

With the next closing date on Wednesday, December 3, the organisers are encouraging the entrants to get their entries in to beat the next fee hike.

Swimmers can still get in seeding swims at the Erfenis Dam Mile in Free State on Saturday, November 29.

This event doubles as a multi-event race, with entrants opting for a triathlon, biathlon, run or even mountain bike.

World Cup rugby star Os du Randt, who is a member of the organising committee.

Online entries close on November 21. Details can be found at www.erfenisdammile.co.za.

The next event is the Emerald Challenge on November 30. The contact is Gaylene Campbell, of Four D Marketing Solutions, at 011 807 3596 or 011 234 7860.

Thereafter, the events move to KZN, with the Albert Falls Challenge on December 7 and the KZN Championships at Midmar on December 21.

Both events include the required 1km seeding distance.

The final opportunies for seeding will be on the January 18, with the Blue Fins Swim Challenge taking place at Maselspoort Resort near Bloemfontein, while for those in Gauteng, the Lake Heritage swim has been upgraded to a water festival over two days.

Swimmers should note that no other events have been included as seeding events this summer except those advertised on the Midmar Mile website, www.midmarmile.co.za.
