Mighty men meet: There will be light

2008-04-18 00:00

Urgent representations by the newly established Umvoti Chamber of Commerce to top government officials have resulted in Eskom agreeing to “let there be light” on Saturday night.

Load shedding in the Greytown district is programmed for 8 pm to 10 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. With over 40 000 people expected at this weekend’s Mighty Men

Conference in Shalom, on the outskirts of Greytown, the lack of power would have resulted in major problems for the visitors, fast food outlets, accommodation and supermarkets.

While granting this concession, Eskom said it will “endeavour to get the two hours from this customer base in another mutually suitable slot”.
