Mine aids war on poacher

2011-03-03 00:00

A DONATION of equipment and services valued at R250 000 by Tendele Coal Mine will help efforts to curb rhino poaching, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife said this week.

EKZNW said rhino killings in South Africa trebled from 122 in 2009 to 330 last year.

The conservation agency said its rhino security intervention plan will be enhanced by Tendele’s “generous donation”, which provides “flying time, crime scene kits, electronic equipment, training” and assistance to upgrade a four-wheel drive vehicle with heavy-duty suspension.
