Minibus thief: causes three collisions and one death

A MAN who went on an accident spree in a stolen minibus caused three collisions and killed a woman on the south coast before being brought to a halt.

The man is believed to be mentally disturbed police said.

“These allegations must be confirmed, but the injured man has been transferred to Albert Luthuli Hospital,” Superintendent Zandra Wiid said.

The spree began when he stole a Toyota Quantum and headed towards Harding. He hit a police vehicle but did not stop. On the N2, he collided with a Toyota Corolla coming from the direction of Port Shepstone. The Corolla driver was seriously injured.

The driver’s killer race ended, when he collided with a woman motorist, Catherine Martin, who was killed instantly.
