Miss Summer Heat weekend

2011-03-15 00:00

BEAUTIFUL women from all over the country will visit the South Coast at the weekend for the Miss Summer Heat and Miss Summer Heat Teen beauty contests, hosted at the Wild Coast Sun.

One representative from each province and from each age group will compete.

The contestants will have a question-and-answer sessions with the judges at C-Bali restaurant on Saturday and the final presentations will be made to the winners at a gala event on Sunday,

The contestants will be staying at St Michaels Manor.

They were chosen during nine semi-final contests that took place in each province.

The beauty contest is not just about looks: each finalist from the nine provinces had to organise and participate in fundraising events and awareness campaigns during the year of her reign.

The overall winner of the Miss Summer Heat contest will have to organise a fundraising event for a charity that is based on the South Coast.

But it won’ be all work and no play for the Miss Summer heat during her reign. Prizes for the winners include an all-inclusive week-long holiday at The Cove beach resort on the Kenyan coast, a week’s stay at St Michaels Manor, a weekend at the three-star Giraffe Camp in the Kruger Park, jewellery, a cover shoot, a fashion feature in the Trend Frenzy online magazine as well as cosmetic and fashion gifts.

More important for the girls, most of whom aim to make modelling a career, is is that Miss Summer Heat SA 2011 and her princesses automatically enter the regional interview round for Miss South Africa.

The Witness is giving away free tickets for Sunday night’s event.

For a chance to win two tickets valued at R100 per person, readers who wish to attend should e-mail theword “beauty” to witness@feveronline.co.za
