Missing people: Police appeal for help

2013-03-26 00:00

PIETERMARITZBURG police are appealing for information that could help them find Bonginkosi Emmanuel Mtshali (25), who was reported missing two weeks ago.

Police spokesperson Joey Jeevan said Mtshali was last seen by a friend on Sunday, March 3, during a social outing at a farm in Ashburton.

“He is of slender build and medium height. He is dark in complexion and has long, black, brushed- back hair,” she said.

She said Mtshali had his name tattooed on his right arm and a dog bite scar on his right calf.

Police also made an urgent appeal for information about Nokuphiwa Nandipha Pukwana (20), who was reported missing on Friday.

Pukwana, who lives at the SOS Village in Pietermaritzburg, was last seen on the morning of March 3 when she boarded a minibus taxi to go to school in Boom Street.

“On the same day at about 2 pm, when the driver returned to the school to pick up the children, she could not be found,” Jeevan said.

“Nokuphiwa is of stocky build and 1,6 metres in height. She is fair in complexion with short black hair and has one gold tooth, and is believed to be mentally challenged.”

Pukwana went missing from home in 2012, but returned safely after a month.

Jeevan urged anyone who has information on their whereabouts to call the investigating officer, Detective Captain Vinesh Balkaran, at 033 845 7724 or 079 500 0630.
