Motorbikes: two severe accidents

2009-10-22 00:00

TWO motorcyclists were seriously injured when their bikes collided in Sarnia near Pinetown yesterday morning. One of the motorcyclists had overtaken a car and when he moved back into the correct lane he sideswiped the other rider and both bikes crashed.

Netcare 911 spokesman Jeff Wicks said the riders sustained possible head and spinal injuries, limb fractures and abrasions and the lacerations one would expect from a motorcycle accident. They are in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Last night a motorcyclist was injured when he fell off his bike on Padfield Road, Pinetown. It is believed the man’s bike hit a kerb and he lost control of the motorcycle. Wicks said paramedics found the man lying face down in the tall grass, severely injured.
