Mumbai clash with Otago washed out

2013-09-24 00:00

THE Champions League T20 match between the Mumbai Indians and the Otago Volts in Ahmedabad yesterday suffered the same fate as the earlier match of the day, and was abandoned without a ball bowled.

This one did not even reach the toss stage as umpires Richard Illingworth and Anil Chaudhary were not able to take to the field for an inspection due to the heavy rainfall.

Group A is no more resolved than it was yesterday morning, with Rajasthan Royals leading on four points and the remaining four teams all on two.

However, Mumbai have now gone through two games and are rock bottom on net run rate and will probably need to beat both the Lions and the Perth Scorchers if they hope to advance to the semi-finals.
