2009-01-26 00:00

A MAN’s body was found in the Pietermaritzburg CBD with multiple stab wounds and a knife wedged in the neck almost decapitating him. The police are appealing to the public to assist in the investigation and the identification of the man.

A security guard, walking in Theatre Lane on Sunday morning, found the body lying on the street and called the police. Police spokeswoman, Inspector Joey Jeevan, said the man is estimated to be 25-years-old. “He is dark in complexion, has short hair and is about 1,70m tall. He was wearing a red and black jacket and a pair of khaki pants. He has a spider-web tattoo on his left inner-forearm”. Police believe the motive for the killing to be robbery.

The investigating officer Detective Inspector Milton Hadebe of the Pietermaritzburg Detective Services can be contacted on 033-845 2425 or 083 717 6323.
