Murder: man stabbed to death over R20

2010-07-06 00:00

A 30-YEAR-OLD man from the Dolo area, Msinga, in the Tugela Ferry area was stabbed to death on Sunday in a row over R20.

Police said Bekelakhe Bongani Ngubane’s body was found in an open field just after midnight. He had two open wounds on his face.

It is believed that Ngubane and a companion were returning home from a function in the area when they argued about the R20. It is not clear who had the money or what it was for.

The suspect ran away, but was caught after members of the community informed the police who launched a search.

The investigation led the police to a house where a 22-year-old man was arrested after police found bloodstained clothes.

He will appear at the Tugela Ferry Magistrate’s Court soon.
