Murder trial of 15 policemen postponed

THE trial of 15 policemen charged with the murder of a man whose naked body was found next to a road in Mpumalanga township in October 2010 has been postponed to February 8.

Yesterday’s adjournment was made necesssary by changes to the accused’s legal representation.

The accused were members of the Crime Intelligence Unit in Pinetown and the Tactical Response Unit in Inanda at the time of the incident.

The murder victim, ­Nhlanhla Luthuli (40), was allegedly killed by police during the course of a search for a missing firearm that was allegedly stolen from the home of a CIU member.
