Murder: woman stabbed 17 times

A 19-YEAR-OLD woman from the Mbutshane area in Sweetwaters was stabbed at least 17 times by an ex-boyfriend, apparently in an jealous rage on Friday night.

Police said Samkelisiwe Zuma was visiting her boyfriend, Nicky Dube, when she was attacked and killed. It is said that her ex-boyfriend called her that evening to find out where she was.

The ex-boyfriend cannot be named as he is yet to appear in court.

Zuma allegedly told her ex-boyfriend that she was with her current boyfriend and he should leave her alone.

The police said the ex-boyfriend recruited a male friend and they went looking for Zuma and when he found her he went into a jealous rage and stabbed her 17 times. She died at the scene.

The suspect was arrested that evening.

At KwaShange near Taylor’s Halt, Nhlanhla Ngobese (45) was stabbed in the head on Saturday during a dispute. A suspect has been arrested.
