Meryl Kurz, whose Pig and Whistle has been a mainstay of musical entertainment in the PMB area for many years, is bringing her group to the Hexagon for three evenings of music, romance and laughter from Valentine’s Day (February 14) to February 16.
The show is Simply the Best — songs old and new. Tina Turner (as represented by Hayley Hounsomn and Yithi Ntshangase) will be singing the title song as well as other hits of hers. Old Pig and Whistles favourites make a welcome return.
Music ranges from the 1950s to the present, so there is something for everyone in the family.
The cast includes seasoned Pig and Whistlers Warwick Hulbert, Carol Mitchell, Caitlin Kilburn, Yithi Ntshangase and Matthew Beetar, as well as new faces Derrick Zuma, Nosi Zulu, Hayley Hounsomn and David Plank.
Shows are at 7 for 7.30 pm in the Hexagon Dive in picnic evening format. So take along a picnic — but no drinks as there is a cash bar. Tickets are R60, and the tables seat 10. Bookings at 033 260 5537 or e-mail hexagon@ukzn.ac.za
