N2 crash: 2 die, 13 hurt

2011-04-12 00:00

TWO women died and 13 others were injured when the taxi they were travelling in overturned on the N2 near Mandini Toll Plaza this afternoon.

The taxi was reportedly travelling along the southbound carriageway, the driver lost control and the vehicle went tumbling down the highway.

When Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene they found the twisted remains of the taxi down a steep embankment. The commuters had been ejected and were spread over a large area.

Netcare 911’s Chris Botha said paramedics found seven passengers who had escaped with minor injuries. The injured passengers were taken to the Stanger hospital for further care. — Witness Reporter.
