N3 toll project: Accident kids to get a little care

2008-12-18 00:00

The N3 Toll Concession (N3TC) recently launched a project aiming to provide comfort and security to children who have been involved in collisions during the festive season.

The N3TC Duduza “We Care” Initiative intends to assist children admitted to state hospitals in the vicinity by providing them with counselling to deal with trauma, distributing toys to them and offering reassurance to the accident victims.

“We are exceptionally proud of this project. We believe that it will make a difference and we will touch lives that are in desperate need of comfort,” said Andy Visser, the N3TC’s public relations and communications manager.

The organisation has partnered with relevant emergency services like the South African Police Service and the Road Traffic Inspectorate, and non-profit organisations to provide assistance to car crash victims, particularly between Heidelberg and Cedara.

Sponsored by organisations like Friends of the Suffering, Tollserve and Tollreach promotions, the project was the brainchild of a concerned N3TC employee, Praveen Sunderlall. “We applaud Praveen ... and other volunteers for committing to this cause.” said Visser.
