Naicker: Three accused get bail

2012-01-19 00:00

THREE Northdale men charged with attempted murder arising from their alleged involvement in an attack on Pietermaritzburg attorney, Nasen Naicker earlier this month have been granted bail of R1 500 each.

A 17-year-old youth also charged in the case is on warning.

Bail was fixed for the accused — who cannot be named in order to protect the identity of the youth — by magistrate, Reard Abrahams after the state withdrew its opposition to bail.

The case was postponed to February 22 for further investigation.

It is alleged that Naicker was lured to a house by the group on a pretext that they needed a lawyer for a drinking and driving case.

He allegedly agreed to accept a payment at their home but whilst he was signing a receipt for the money he was allegedly set upon with a bush knife and stabbed in his chest.
