Nail-biting finish for St Charles

2012-01-31 00:00

HILTON, in their second very tight game against College, again they came up just short.

It was a harder game for DHS, but they established themselves as the team to beat in KZN as they took care of Westville.

DHS were dominant leading all the way to eventually win 98-51.

It was a close game at St Charles where they met Kearsney. Kearsney started well, but St Charles were soon into the lead.

St Charles took an 18-12 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Kearsney fought hard in the next quarter and closed the gap to 21-25 at the halfway stage.

The third quarter saw the sides becoming more physical as Kearsney first drew level and then trailed by two points at the end of the third quarter. St Charles deservedly won 45-40.

Hilton, after losing by just one point last week against St Charles, lost a nail-biter against visitors Maritzburg College, going down 69-66 after extra time.

Other results: Glenwood 37 Michaelhouse 60, Clifton 36 Treverton 26
